SEANART
Hand-welded sculpture built from salvaged steel, machine parts and found objects — every piece one-off, every story real.
The Artist
Sean was born in England to a military family and qualified as a veterinary pathologist in London in 1975. His work took him around the world — Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, and Zambia. Today, South Fremantle is home.
Welding art may seem a world away from veterinary pathology, but the artistic gene runs deep — a thread that's shaped Sean's life and work for as long as he can remember.
Each piece in this collection is hand-built, one of a kind, and impossible to replicate. Working in stainless and mild steel, reclaimed railway iron, and salvaged mechanical parts, every sculpture blends technical welding craft with genuine Australian character — from Aboriginal dot-painting motifs to playful caricatures of the creatures found along our coastline.
No two pieces are ever made the same way twice. Once it's gone, it's gone.
